The 急诊科 offers various courses and learning opportunities for students during their medical school education. As the only Level I trauma center in Central New York, our 急诊医学 is a fast paced, exciting place for students to experience clinical medicine. With a residency program in 急诊医学, students have access to board certified faculty, as well as residents in training in the field. Students will be exposed to various aspects of medicine in the Emergency Department.

With clinical faculty at 上州立大学医院, Golisano Children's Hospital Pediatrics Emergency Department, 社区总医院, 以及锡拉丘兹退伍军人医院, students have access to various settings and practices in 急诊医学.

With access to a state of the art 模拟 Center (EMSTAT), students have opportunities to learn and practice aspects of the above objectives in a safe environment with a hands-on approach to learning.

In addition to an emphasis on the six ACGME Core Competencies (病人护理, 医学知识, 专业, 基于系统的实践, Practice-Based learning and improvement, and Interpersonal and Communications Skills), objectives for medical students during their clinical training with the Department include:
